Sare Homestay and Artspace Sanur

It's very loud, the rooms have mold everywhere, and there is no water pressure at all. The staff are super unfriendly and never greet you or even say good morning. I've booked three times, and the service has got worse each time. Don't book here, there are so many better hotels in Sanur.

We paid 450k per night for our one-night stay at Sare Homestay. It was fully booked, so we couldn't extend, though we wished we could. The room was super clean, nice and spacious, with a fridge, AC, water, and an en-suite. Breakfast was included and great. You could choose omelette and toast, rice or noodles with tempeh or chicken, or local market sweets like pancakes. You had to choose the night before, on arrival. My only concern was the Koi fish in the small pond. I worried it was too small for them to thrive and live long.

The chicken salad barely had any chicken, and the bits that were there were gristle. The wings were just bone. It was the worst and most expensive place I've eaten.

I was quite satisfied with Sare Homestay. It's good value for money, with an airy garden space and a Balinese feel. There's a restaurant serving breakfast, which is included in the room rate, as well as other meals. The breakfast choices are simple, and you need to pick in advance. It's convenient to walk to the main street, and the beach is about 700m away. My room had no window, but light came through a glass corner and it was bright enough. It had A/C and basic amenities.
