The kind attitude of the household staff made the stay pleasant. There were some real drawbacks, though. The breakfast that comes with the stay is limited, so we preferred eating out. One room had a smart TV, but the other didn't connect to a laptop for movies. The rooms were clean but very dated, and the clean linens were worn out. The pillows felt hard and lumpy. The smaller pool needs a lot of upkeep: some step-edge tiles are broken, and an uncovered outlet valve on the side sucked at my friend's arm and left a bruise. I reported it four days earlier, but it was still an issue the next night, so we learned to avoid that side of the pool. The slippery floor tiles around the pool and in the bathrooms were dangerous when wet. We slipped a couple of times.

The service was good, but I got dengue fever here and left after 12 days instead of staying the month I had planned. I also saw a cockroach, and centipedes kept coming onto the downstairs floor of my villa. The bathroom's open ceiling had no netting, and it became a mosquito nest. Better-sealing doors, caulking on the wooden stairs, and covering that ceiling could be simple, cheap fixes for the mosquitoes and centipedes. Their absence makes me think management has neglected the property. Getting so sick completely ruined the experience. I can't recommend staying here unless they address these problems. A really bad experience.

I've stayed at Janan villas many times and love the staff, especially Mrs. Ida and everyone at the desk. The rooms are spacious, the gardens are lush, and the two long pools are kept clean. It's also very quiet, with restaurants, shops, nightclubs, and beaches just a short walk away. They have rooms with kitchens and monthly rates too.

My family and I really enjoyed the beautiful garden and pool area. We had a deluxe room overlooking the pool, and it felt well worth it. The location made it easy to get to the beach or into the city, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely come back.
