Villa Mahapala

We had a two bedroom villa with a pool, and one villa is right by the busy street, so it was noisy at night. The rooms are very old, which isn’t easy to tell from the website photos. There’s a big gap between the sliding doors. The glass door from the bathroom to the outdoor shower wouldn’t close and had no lock, so mosquitoes, frogs, and geckos kept getting in. I had multiple mosquito bites after staying there. At night, when I turned off the lights, I saw something move on the ceiling. I hope it wasn’t a rat! The bathtub had steps and a gap between the tub and the steps. I had to climb from the steps into the tub, and it was hard to get in and very slippery. This villa is not kid friendly at all, and it was overcharged. I’ll never come back.

We were very disappointed with Villa Mahapala. Our pool water was off and not up to standard. Pool workers spent two days trying to deal with it. They first offered us the use of another villa’s pool, which we refused. Then they offered a free dinner for the inconvenience. Finally, they offered to move us to another villa, an option they should have given us on day one. Very disappointing.

We stayed for seven nights, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and had the best time. They handled every question with care and diligence. I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay near Sindhu beach in Sanur.

We were upgraded to the two bedroom deluxe villa, number4, at the far end, with a large circular pool. It was magnificent and ridiculously good value compared with other nearby villas or places in much worse locations. The villa was comfortable, with comfy beds and pillows, a decent shower, huge indoor and outdoor areas, and a large fridge/freezer for keeping drinks cold. There were several places to sit inside too. The gardens were beautiful, and it was unbelievably quiet and peaceful despite being so close to one of the main streets in Seminyak, eat st. There are restaurants galore, spas, supermarkets, bars, nightclubs, chemists, and shops for clothes, shoes, bags, and pretty much anything else nearby. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our villa was ageing, but extremely clean and in great condition.
