I picked this hotel because it was close to UI, where my parent needed to attend an event. The other options seemed to be apartments, which didn’t feel suitable for an elderly person. The room being old was something I could accept for a three-star place, and at first I was willing to put up with the dirt too. The walls had grime, pencil marks and a layer of dust, and the toilet was moldy. But after we left for a day, the room smelled strongly of smoke even though nobody in our group smokes. When I complained, the response was so casual it seemed like a common issue. A man came in, sprayed something for less than a minute, then left. I don’t have a personal grudge here, but management needs to improve if they want guests to be satisfied.

My children enjoyed swimming in the Olympic-size pool at the Amarais swimming club. The downside is that it’s often under maintenance and dirty, so guests can’t use it. I hope it won’t need repairs so frequently in the future.

That huge, soft king-size bed was the highlight. It could fit five or six people, perhaps a family with two or three small kids. The hotel feels old-school and minimalist, with a quiet atmosphere despite being beside busy Margonda street. Breakfast is a modest buffet, and there are lots of Depok food spots nearby.

There’s plenty here for a group gathering, with lots of rooms, halls in several sizes, three pools for toddlers, kids and adults, plus a playground, paintball area and garden cafe. The location is handy too, near the Margonda toll gate and only a few hundred metres from Margo City, Depok Town Square and D Mall. Restaurants and street food are all around. My room was spacious, though some of its furniture and the walls, windows and sink looked old and dirty. Still, for a three-star hotel, the service and quality are near the top of its class. I’d recommend it as a three-star option.

I can live with an older building if the room is clean, but mine was in really poor shape. The sheets and amenities were dirty, and it felt as if the previous guest had just left without the room boy cleaning properly. Disappointing stay.
