Ozi Matahari Bungalow

I've been coming here since 2019. It's in a lively area with the sunset right in front, and the rooms have recently been renovated. The quality is excellent for the price, and the staff are friendly. When snorkeling about 100m straight out from here, you can see coral reefs, fish, and turtles.

It's on the far side of the area, so getting here from the harbor takes some effort, but I thought it was worth it. There are some great restaurants nearby, and watching the sunset every evening was a highlight. I stayed for over a week, and the room was cleaned regularly with the towels replaced. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. When I mentioned a few ants outside my room, they dealt with them within seconds. Their quick response made the stay very pleasant. I'm sure they'd have sorted out anything else I needed just as quickly. I'd definitely return!

The rooms are quite basic since this is on the cheaper side, and one room's air conditioning wasn't powerful enough. They were happy to move us to another room, though. The staff are really lovely and accommodating, especially Dan, who was hospitable and went out of his way to help us. It's great value and very relaxing by the beach. You can walk down the right-hand side of the beach along the way. In rainy season, the water here was cleaner and calmer than on the other side near the main hub. It's farther from the island's main area, but they rent bicycles quite cheaply, and they're fun to ride around.

The sunsets were beautiful, and the place felt so peaceful. The food was amazing, especially the vegetable curry, and the beach seating lets you have dinner while the sun goes down. The cost was super reasonable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were so friendly and made us feel at home. Our room was comfortable, with an outdoor shower and toilet area that was covered. There's a PADI certification shop right next door, which was very convenient when we took the three-day scuba certification course. This is the best place to stay in Gili air. Highly recommend it, you might regret not staying longer!
