Scallywags Smugglers

Breakfast is served at Scallywags Beach Club, about a 10-minute walk or 5 minutes by bike away. They have a big buffet with a good selection, and you can use a sunbed with towels for free to spend the day at the beach. Our room was comfy, very clean, and very quiet apart from the prayer calls from the muezzin. We loved the small private patio and the outside bathroom. There were no ants, bugs, mosquitoes, or other insects in our room during our four nights, which was perfect and unlike anywhere else we stayed on our trip. The staff are nice and helpful. We can highly recommend this place!

The staff were friendly, and there’s a snorkeling reef 50-100 mts from the club. We had a great time on Gili Air and at skallywaggs, and I’d recommend it 100%. We stayed in the “Rumah Dua” room at Skallywaggs smugglers, and it was really nice, with a huge bed, fridge, and drinking water tank. The Skallywaggs Beach club is at most a 10-minute walk away, where guests can use the amazing sunbeds and have a great breakfast. We spent most of our time there, and the BBQ selection for lunch and dinner is fantastic!

They efficiently organized our Lombok day trip, including an amazing snorkeling adventure at Gili Nanggu, Lombok, and also arranged a memorable snorkeling experience around Gili. The breakfast spot is a convenient 5-minute walk from the rooms. Breakfast was quite satisfactory. The location is superb, under 500 meters from the jetty and close to the island’s heart, with restaurants, cafes, and warungs within easy reach. We had a wonderful stay at Scallywags Smugglers. The staff were friendly, the room was excellent, and the small pool gave us plenty of room for a refreshing dip. I’d hoped to go diving, but unfortunately the diving instructor, Mario, didn’t meet the professional standard I’d expect in the service industry. His impatience with a couple of questions was disappointing and unprofessional. It’s regrettable, but that experience brings my rating to 4 stars instead of the 5 it could have been. The hotel has its own beach club on the sunrise coast, with a lovely beach, breakfast, and sunbeds you can use all day. The place itself is cozy and charming, with a little patio and an open-air shower. I’m taking off one star for the night noise from the muezzin, which woke me twice, at 3am and 5am. The breakfast was bad too, with no salads or vegetables, and the rest was over-fried or looked unappetizing. We had our second breakfast at Gili Bliss instead, and it was delicious! 😋
