Villa Sande

We had a very disappointing stay, with serious cleanliness problems, poor communication, and no reimbursement after what I believe was a misrepresentation of the property. I organized this trip for six clients. The rooms were extremely dirty, with dust everywhere, stained bed sheets, spider webs, and a bathroom that clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly before check-in. The kitchen area was dirty too, and dirty forks were brought to the table. There was also a significant draught in the cabin. Several guests couldn’t sleep and improvised by covering their heads with towels to get through the night. Because of the conditions, I had to move two clients at short notice. I would have moved everyone, but it was very difficult to find nearby accommodation on the spot. Before we arrived, staff barely responded to messages on Booking. After I reported the problems, they cleaned one room only once I clearly said how dissatisfied I was, even though the stay was prepaid and the rooms should have been clean from the start. When I asked about reimbursement, the manager first said he couldn’t do it through Booking because he “doesn’t have a button” for it. I contacted Booking.com support, who spoke directly with him. He then denied reimbursement for the people I had moved and stopped replying to me. I had to cover the costs myself, which added stress and work, with no fair resolution. The manager lied to me and to Booking about what happened. This property did not meet basic hospitality standards. I can’t recommend it, especially for groups or anyone expecting problems to be handled professionally.

Villa Sande is set among rice fields, with breathtaking views and a very peaceful atmosphere. The resort has a handful of rooms and bungalows scattered across the fields, plus two small pools for a refreshing dip. The elevation makes the area quite cool, though. Getting around is difficult without a scooter, so renting one from the resort is definitely a good idea. It cost 150k per day, and ours had a strong engine and was reliable. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, especially toward Munduk, since the resort’s breakfast and restaurant are basic and nothing special. The bathroom felt dated, had an odd layout, and stayed damp because there’s no ventilation. We also found some dust and cobwebs in and around the bungalow. All in all, a decent resort, but simple and somewhat dated in places.

The view at Villa Sande was exceptional, and the staff were attentive. My friend and I had a great stay, and I highly recommend this villa. Merci beaucoup Edi, Brown and Dwipa ❤️

We’re delighted with our stay. The hotel was great, and the view across the rice fields was really pretty.
