It has a serene feeling of peaceful freedom, with several places to hang out and a yoga studio if that's your thing. There's no pool, and breakfast isn't included unless you pay extra. They do provide water, which helps with the guilt of using plastic bottles. The setting is beautiful and quiet, with a rural feel and surrounding paddocks where cows are tethered. I felt more like I was in India, or, as my partner said, Tanzania. Some bungalows are looking worn and need general maintenance. I'd definitely consider staying again.

I've stayed at Maomeno Yoga Resort on Gili Island twice and can't wait to return. The bungalows are all different, each with its own style and atmosphere, and they blend naturally into the lush surroundings with thoughtful design and natural materials. It's a peaceful retreat for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Bird calls add to the calm, making it a lovely place to relax and reflect. The staff are welcoming and attentive, and go out of their way to make you comfortable. You won't regret choosing this place.

The room we were given didn't match the photos, and the place felt old rather than like a proper resort. We'd booked MaoMeno Yoga Resort expecting somewhere nice, clean, and authentic, but it didn't meet our expectations. The shower water was salty. We only learned after arriving that this is the case across the island, something we could have researched beforehand. At check-in we met a woman at reception, but never saw her again, and the atmosphere didn't feel welcoming, unlike other places we've stayed. There were also lots of mosquitoes. That's understandable on a tropical island, but Gili Meno seemed to have many more than the other Gili islands. The stay wasn't what we'd expected.

I’ve been to this magical place twice. Every house has its own charm, and my favorite part of each day was wandering down to the beach to snorkel. The staff are so friendly, and island life seems to bring a new little surprise every day. Yoga was great too. Even just spending time in that room feels like a treat.
