Putri Bungalow

The room was a little bare and not very cozy, with just one window and not much natural light. Still, the extras made us really like Putri Homestay, and we'd recommend it for a good place at a decent price. We stayed two nights and got free fresh water in the room, a refrigerator, a safe, a locking cabinet, and hot water for tea and coffee. The air con worked really well too. There was an outdoor patio with a table and cushioned chairs, plus a tap to wash our feet before going inside. The garden walkway was lovely and gave the area a more private feel. We appreciated the welcome fruit drink, and the staff were helpful and friendly throughout.

Right in the middle of the small island, so everything is equally far or near, depending how you look at it. The homestay is simple, but very clean and regularly maintained. The owners are kind and ready to help or offer good advice. Food is delicious, and the portions are big enough for a European. There are very good snorkeling spots at the island's northwest and southwest corners. Swim toward the places where the snorkeling boats are, and you can find plenty of turtles and coral fish. The animals do seem quite nervous because of the constant propeller noise and the crowds brought by the boats.

The owner brought local-style breakfast to our front patio every morning, and she spoke great English, which was a big help in learning about the property and local life. She was so lovely, as were the staff and locals around the place. The location was convenient, close to where the speedboat dropped us and near the beaches and sunset. My favorite part was the magical space around her guest houses. There are little things to discover in the garden, among the plants and local life, with kids playing and laughing and families cooking. Just ask her about it. The earthquakes destroyed the communal seating area and her home :(, but the front porches are perfect for getting work done or relaxing. I'm coming back and staying with her again. Recommend 100%!

The lady who runs the place was very kind and explained everything when we arrived. Our room and bathroom were both big and clean, and the room had a little terrace where breakfast was brought to us each morning. It was very nice. We also had good air conditioning and a fan, which we didn't need, plus a big fridge and a safety box. WiFi wasn't great, but good enough for a tiny island. The location in the middle of the island was perfect, with a five-minute walk to a beach on either side. Plenty of restaurants are nearby, though everything is nearby in Meno. We can really recommend it!
