At least the staff were polite and attentive, arranged drivers to the airport for the next morning, and the restaurant offered a broad local menu with beer, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Breakfast was complimentary too. The air-conditioned rooms cost 597,400 Rupiah, equivalent to AUD $56, though western standards make the AUD $16 rate for a double or queen room very cheap. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. It’s an old, quirky place from another era and overdue for serious repairs. The first-level laminated floor has cracks and several obvious holes that might give way underfoot. Door trim has significant dry rot near the floor, probably throughout the resort. The check-in was unusual, staff videoed the whole process. Air conditioning worked well in some of the better rooms but barely worked in others. End rooms have high extra windows with no curtains, so light comes through all night. The tiled bathroom floor isn’t sloped toward the drains, leaving puddles. Value for money? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes, but the first-level flooring and probably the door trim need serious repairs.
