Ai Hotel Jakarta Thamrin

I stayed on the 10th floor, and water kept leaking from the ceiling onto the bed. The bedcover was stained, and the hotel's general condition didn't seem well maintained. Getting to the lobby by car is really narrow, while the underground parking access is so steep that my car grounded out, so I had to park outside. For what I paid, it wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, since you could get a better deal elsewhere at this price. I'm never staying here again.

The room itself was in rough shape, and the booking problem never got sorted out. We found a clogged drain, a stained sheet, dirty toiletries, smoke smell in a non-smoking room, no bottled water until we asked, and a ceiling light that wouldn't switch off. We'd booked the Explorer Room with Bathtub, a corner room with a view, but got a downgrade with neither a bathtub nor a corner layout. At first, the male front desk staff blamed a leak in the booked room's AC. Later that night and again the next morning, the reason changed to overbooking. That shifting story felt unreliable and unprofessional. We brought it up several times. The male assistant working Saturday night said there'd be compensation, but didn't take the complaint to the owner. On Sunday morning, Mytha Stefani, Eka Nursanti, and Nur Hasanah were polite, but didn't seem to grasp the inconvenience and couldn't get hold of the owner either. We had to leave for our event without a proper answer. The compensation offered didn't feel fair given that we had no option but to stay in the lower room. Staff were courteous but ineffective, and management stayed out of reach. A frustrating stay from start to finish.

The room floor made a lot of noise, and the bathroom drain barely worked. Housekeeping also threw away things I still had on the table. At the restaurant, the food menu was terrible, omelets weren't available, and staff were shouting at each other in the back. On top of all that, check-in wasn't until 3 pm and each room required a 250K Rupiah deposit. Worst experience of my life.

The traffic noise was really loud even from the 10th floor, which was the main downside. Apart from the dusty, messy lobby during renovations, though, my stay was great. My Royal suite felt brand new, the bedding was spotless, the room was clean, and the air conditioning worked well. The staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. The location is a gem, with a short walk to Agora mall and Grand Indo, plus a busway stop and MRT station nearby.
