Mall Taman Anggrek has fashion shopping, food, and entertainment together in one place, with things for visitors of all ages. It feels lively, and there’s plenty to do whether you’re out with family, meeting up casually, or spending a weekend together. It’s a nice spot to make a day of it and share some memories.
There are still plenty of big-name tenants, and it remains a fairly complete mall, with XXI, ice skating, IKEA, decathlon, and haidilao. It used to be the top-tier mall in west Jakarta. Some 20-30% of the space is empty, and the place feels dated, though that grand ceiling is still impressive. It’s a good family mall and tends to be less crowded than other malls.
It’s an old, nostalgic place, but it’s been kept up well. Parking is easy, and although some shops have shut, IKEA, decathlon, haidilao, and hero supermatket are still open. This legendary mall in west jakarta is still a good option if you want somewhere less crowded in the area.
The apartment building, Taman Anggrek, is comfortable and beautiful. The mall itself feels roomy and comfortable, with a food court, pleasant restaurants, and a hangout area with wooden chairs along the shop corridors. It’s also a fun place to go ice skating, and it’s one of the largest malls in Indonesia, in West Jakarta.
The legendary Sky Rink is still a great place to skate with friends or family, and Mall Taman Anggrek has kept some of its classic charm in West Jakarta. But lately there have been so many vacant spots and closed shops that the mall feels quieter and less lively than it used to. I miss having modern, trendy cafes with comfortable indoor smoking areas. Most of those current hangouts are absent, and bringing in more "kekinian" cafes could help liven the place up. I hope management refreshes the mall with a wider range of F&B choices and better facilities for people who like to have coffee indoors while smoking. It still has potential, but needs a fresh touch to keep up with newer malls.
