New Green Sentul Resort

The shower pressure was so low that we couldn’t really enjoy taking a shower, and the road in is rough. You can also come in through the Sentul Circuit area. Apart from that, the amenities are generally fine. It’s a quiet resort with lush greenery and nice rooms, a good escape from the noisy city. Recommended.

For IDR 220K for one night on an Agoda promo, this was good value. The staff were friendly and helpful, and didn’t ask for a tip, though they were happy if you gave one. It’s quiet, with lots of trees and birds in the morning, though you can sometimes hear racing from the nearby Sentul circuit. The bed was soft, the sheets clean, and the water heater worked well. They provided two small bottles of mineral water, soap, shampoo, a toothbrush, and two towels, but no sandals. The pool was very nice, with a kids’ area around 50 cm deep and adult sections around 100 cm and 200 cm. Midnight swimming was allowed. I’d give it 7 out of 10. The drive there is terrible, especially in a low car. There’s a TV, but no signal for any channels. The AC blows cold, even on turbo. There’s no electric kettle, so for coffee or tea you have to buy a pot of hot water from the restaurant for IDR 10k. I heard knocking for hours at night in my room on the second floor of EDELLWEIS building. Staff explained it was the torrent and pipe from the roof, but it was quite annoying. There are many abandoned areas, and finding food at night was hard because the restaurant closes at 8 PM.

The setting is lush and refreshing, with tall trees and plenty of nice spots for photos. The pool is small but clean, and the water wasn’t too cold despite the cool, windy weather. It’s near the Edelweiss rooms at the back of the resort. Getting there from the main road means taking about 2 km of wavy, stony road. My room in Edelweiss on the second floor was small, and the wallpaper was torn. It looked like an old hotel, though a staff member said it was only three years old. Only two of the four yellow lights worked, so the room was very dim. There was dirt on the yellowish-white sheet, and the blanket was too thin to keep warm at night. My mom’s first-floor room on the left had no mirror, not even in the toilet. The jet pump was noisy during our stay. The toilet was quite big, but the sink tap was combined with the shower, so water also came out of the sink when we showered. The towels were poor quality, very thin, and the two were different sizes, so bring your own. There was a TV, but the signal was too bad to watch any channels. Please look after the receiver or strengthen the signal. I hope the owner or management pays attention to customers’ concerns and makes improvements.

The so-called Deluxe Garden View Room had no garden view and didn’t feel deluxe at all. It looked out onto a rubbish-filled scrapyard, and you have to walk through the rubbish every time you go to the room. The photos I posted show what it’s actually like. Don’t book it.
