The room we moved to had not been cleaned very well, and someone in the neighboring room kept talking loudly on the phone late into the night. Our first room was clean, but it leaked, so we had to switch. We stayed just one night on the way to Bali, driving through heavy rain. The hotel is under a 10-minute drive from Ketapang port, close enough that you can hear the ship horns. It's an old hotel with a large compound and single-storey buildings where you can park right in front of your room. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious. The restaurant is huge and serves great rawon and ayam taliwang. There is also a tennis court, a pool, and a barbecue area on the grounds. It seems well suited to group events, and some renovations could really improve the place.

I’d suggest staying here during a stopover before Bali, or while exploring Banyuwangi on a budget. I tried it for the first time and wasn’t disappointed. This is a 2-star hotel, so the room is basic: a queen bed, TV, cupboard, and desk. The air conditioning and water heater worked well, and they offer daily room cleaning. For the price, I was happy to have a pool and a beach view. Breakfast had plenty of choices, from Indonesian dishes like Nasi Goreng and Pecel Sayur to Western options such as an omelette and pastries. Everything tasted good. I was told Manyar hotel is the first hotel in Ketapang, which may explain why it feels old.

The hotel is a little old, but it was fine. The rooms are clean and set up like cottages, with each one in a separate building. You can park right outside your room.

Nothing is nearby, and it’s away from the center. The bathroom was the dirtiest I’ve ever seen: the white tiles had turned yellow over time, spider webs were everywhere, and everything looked extremely dirty and worn out.
