Grand Bintang Tawangmangu

We got breakfast in bed, and the room was bright and roomy, with a large bathroom and everything working. The views outside the front of the hotel were outstanding. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, with no hassle. The staff were polite and very helpful, sorting out my request to change one of the rooms in under 10 minutes. Ten stars for the staff again.

The hotel is right on the main street, close to public facilities including a traditional market, food court, bus terminal, and pharmacy.

The balcony has lovely natural scenery, but the room had several problems. The floor was dirty, with lots of sticky spots as if it hadn’t been cleaned, and the walls looked like they had a lot of seepage. There was no table tissue. The room also wasn’t soundproof, so outside noise came through clearly and was very disturbing, especially at bedtime.

There’s plenty of parking, even for buses, and they have a ballroom for events. The room was quite spacious, and there’s a small swimming pool just for kids. The price is reasonable, though you can get a cheaper one through the app than the published rate.
