De La Charis Hotel Kediri

Right in central Kediri on Jalan Dhoho, this is a straightforward place for visitors who just need a bed and breakfast for the night. The rooms are standard size, but the hotel needs more upkeep and cleaning. Care is a bit lacking, and basic items such as toiletries and towel paper were missing.

The thing that ended our loyalty was a female staff member, who I believe was a receptionist, speaking very rudely to us over the phone when we called to change our booking dates. Maybe she was having a bad day, but we were still surprised by the lack of hospitality. I hope Ms. Ika sees this and doesn't treat other guests that way. Would we come back now? No. It really wasn't right, but her attitude changed our minds completely. We used to choose this hotel every time we visited Kediri because it's closest to our family's homes, has easy road access, and is affordable. The rooms and facilities were just okay, which seemed fair for the price and what we understood to be a two-star hotel. Spots on the bed, a smelly toilet, ants on the wall, and dust everywhere weren't major issues for us before.

The pool is so dirty that it can't be used. When I asked the cleaning staff about it, they said they'd clean it, but it still wasn't cleaned. They advertise facilities they don't actually provide, so this hotel isn't for people looking for an enjoyable stay. Choose somewhere else in Kediri.

The staff were pretty friendly, and the breakfast tasted rather good, so I'll give it 2 stars. The room was dirty and the place wasn't well maintained overall. I would have given it 1 star otherwise.
