Amalfi Seminyak

I stayed longer than planned because of health problems and my bad back. I originally booked 4 night, then extended twice, by 2 nights each time. On day 6, someone called me at 12:30 am to ask for payment for the next 2 nights. What kind of hotel calls a guest at that hour about money? I changed money the next morning at 8am and paid. I've travelled for more than 15 years and never had this happen. The towels looked old and worn, and the bedsheets had stains all over. I've been travelling to Bali on and off for 10 years, and I'm a hotelier by profession too. No one runs away from a hotel without paying. If smoking isn't allowed and there's a strict policy, tell guests when they check in. On the first day, I asked for an ashtray because I wanted to smoke on the room balcony. A staff member with glasses brought it up and rudely told me, “ this room no smoking”. I explained I meant the balcony. He said even a little smoke in the room meant a Big Big Fine. I understand it's a non-smoking room, which is why I chose one with a balcony. The hotel doesn't have its own restaurant and outsources breakfast. I was asked to choose from a set menu, which was fair enough. When breakfast came on day 2, it was too much food, so I asked the Guy with Glasses if the next day I could have only certain items and less strong coffee. He said ok. But on day 3, when I asked him about breakfast, he said I hadn't told the receptionist the night before. I said, didn't I tell you what I wanted? I didn't get breakfast that day, so I just walked away. Apart from the guy with glasses, the other staff were friendly. I never wanted to write this, but I don't want other guests to face these kinds of situations, and I hope the jotel does well in the near future. Terimakashi

The staff were lovely, and my room was really clean. I had a peaceful stay right in the heart of seminyak, so I'd definitely recommend booking here. There's a club just outside on the main road, and the famous mexicola is only 2km away.

I was kept waiting while housekeepers checked my room before I could leave, even though my driver was waiting out front to take me to the airport. After reading other comments about guests being treated as if they were suspected of wrongdoing at checkout, I feel better knowing I wasn't the first. This points to a problem with management. I hope the receptionist finds a better job soon. It doesn't seem like a worthwhile place to work.

The breakfast was great, the staff were all friendly, and the hotel is in a convenient spot. It's very cost effective overall. Shout out to Dika, the fellow at reception with the glasses. He's a great guy and made me feel right at home.
