Disini Villa

The villas are tired and run down, and this didn’t feel like a five-star stay. Hot water comes from a gas bottle, not the advertised high-capacity solar or electric system, and there wasn’t an electronic insect and mosquito machine. Each evening a staff member came in, lit a mossie coil and sprayed bug spray around the rooms. The website says pool-villa breakfast is complimentary, but it isn’t. The location, though, is fantastic, especially for first-time Bali visitors. Restaurants and shops are an easy walk away, with a convenience store right next door. Staff were friendly and accommodating. They let us check in early, and when our hot-water gas ran out, they replaced it straight away. It was nice, but no, I wouldn’t stay again.

The local cats around Desini Villas became an unexpected part of our stay. They’re gentle, quiet and respectful, and seem familiar with people without being anyone’s owned pets. Feeding them turned into a small daily ritual that meant a surprising amount to us. If you enjoy animals, bringing some cat food or picking it up locally is an easy way to help. Even sharing a little breakfast leftover makes a difference. And to the villa staff, thank you for quietly looking out for them too. That kindness says a lot about the place. The villas themselves are beautifully designed, private, calm and immaculately maintained. Everything worked as it should, and the staff were attentive without intruding. It’s an easy place to settle in and relax. We’d happily return and recommend it without hesitation.

I stayed for two nights in a private-pool room. It was huge and clean, and everything was perfect. They left bottled water by the washbasin for brushing our teeth, so we didn’t have to worry about Bali belly. I also got a birthday surprise, and having a spa treatment in my room on the last day was a great experience. I really enjoyed my time at Disni Villas, especially thanks to the lovely staff.

The friendly local cats around Desini Villas were an unexpected highlight. They’re gentle and sociable, and feel like part of the Bali atmosphere rather than a nuisance. Sharing a little leftover food from breakfast or room service is easy and surprisingly rewarding. The villa was private and comfortable, and having breakfast and room service available made the stay easy.
