The spa was a real highlight for us. The therapists were skilled and professional, and got the pressure just right. I’d definitely recommend it. Our four-person group stayed in a two-bedroom villa, which looked lovely and had a good-sized pool and a pond. Sitting together on the sofa while the rain fell and insects chirped was wonderfully peaceful. There were noticeably more mosquitoes here than at the other Bali hotels where we stayed. One bedroom also had an entirely open-air shower, so in a heavy downpour you’d get soaked. On our final night, the shower started switching between hot and cold, so we requested a repair. The staff came while we were out to dinner. When we got back, the room smelled strongly of cigarettes. We called for help right away, and staff tried spraying, but the odor stayed. I later found that my clothes smelled of it too. It was after 11 pm, and I was exhausted, so we tried to sleep. I slept badly because the smell kept bothering me. We told the manager the next morning, and he offered 10% off our spa treatments. The staff were polite, though I think their professionalism training could be better.

We had such a good 4D 3N at The Layar with my friends. The four-bedroom villa has a lovely layout, a positive feel, and a nice breeze. The rooms are big, and the outdoor bathrooms are extraordinary. The Layar Team looked after us so well. Every morning brought a delicious breakfast, from fresh-baked french pastries to Nasi Goreng, Egg Benedict, Mie Goreng, Zucchini Fritters, and Granola. We enjoyed every bite. Arigato Gozaimasu :)

The staff made our family feel so welcome, and they were lovely with the kids. Adi deserves a special mention. The children adored him: he was patient, kind, and fun to be around. He even invited them to play Roblox with him, which won them over completely. We spent four days at The Layar and are already looking forward to another visit. Our villa was private, roomy, and beautifully put together, with a large pool that was perfect for family downtime. The whole place felt peaceful and luxurious, but still comfortable and homey. Highly recommended.

The pool looked just as beautiful as the photos, and the space itself was lovely. We stayed at The Layar for three nights and felt well looked after. The staff were friendly and polite, buggy rides were plentiful and arrived quickly, and they answered requests on WhatsApp promptly. There were some design issues for us. The stairs were numerous and steep, which felt risky with toddlers and older people. In one bedroom, there’s a drop just inside the door, so you need to watch your step. Reservations kindly moved us to a villa with fewer stairs, though we still found there were too many. The wooden floors were slippery, and the pool got very deep at the end by the entrance. Also, taller people have to duck under the roof edge at the shallow end.
