Bali Sunrise Camp & Glamping

The views are amazing, and the food is simple, good, and very cheap. The rooms are basic but clean, and the staff are kind and helpful. The steep road up can feel a bit scary, though that’s part of the local experience. You may hear karaoke from nearby houses in the evening. We loved it and didn’t mind at all.

The views at sunrise and sunset are beautiful, and this could suit people looking for adventure and hiking rather than comfort or peace and quiet. The woman working there, possibly the manager, was very kind, apologized for the problems, and said we didn’t need to pay for the food we’d ordered earlier. The room was hard to sleep in because there were insects everywhere, including bed bugs, and the water was painfully cold with no hot water. Although the rooms were built in 2023, they looked old and neglected, with cracks in the doors and an open bathroom window. Neighbours were noisy too. The food was okay and even very good at first, but the free breakfast was awful and smelled bad. The tea came in a dirty cup, and the plates looked used and hadn’t been washed. This is my honest review.

There are so many flies in Kintamani. It's a good place, but I wouldn’t recommend driving a car unless you’re up for a challenge.

The rooms were nice, but they weren’t properly sealed, so all our things got wet and we became ill. We were also supposed to have a kettle and table, but had to borrow them from next door. The staff were nice, though they were rarely around. We often had to go around the corner and wake someone to order food, which made me feel bad, and on our second day there was nobody available all day. We didn’t feel welcome, and with everything about 20 minutes away by motorbike, the food here was our only option in bad weather. We ended up not eating. It wasn’t relaxing, and though it was cheap, we didn’t have a good stay. There are better places. Getting there was rough. It’s more like a footpath up the hill than a road, and I’d only ride up if you’re very good on a bike. The view was lovely for an hour, but clouds blocked everything the rest of the time. The weather was awful throughout, with us in cloud 24/7. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, and clouds are to be expected on a mountain, but maybe avoid this time of year. We were woken at 5:30 every morning by roosters, then at 6 by Indonesian pop music, maybe, blaring from a nearby festival-grade speaker. For our 4d3n stay they offered only three meals: nasi goreng, mee goreng, which was instant noodles, and vegetable broth.
