We stumbled on this hotel and restaurant by chance while traveling in Bali, and the quiet by the lake was a real treat, especially after Ubud. The sunset view is lovely, and you can watch the sunrise from their terrace too. Many visitors leave Kuta or Ubud early for the Mount Batur sunrise hike and miss the chance to stay by the lake overnight, then hike after the crowds have gone. It's a shame this hotel isn't on booking.com; they use TikTok and other social platforms. Of all the natural sites I visited during my ten days in Bali, this is the one I'd recommend most.

The place didn't seem well looked after, and the meal was poor. I ordered grilled fish, but it arrived cold, so I wondered how long it had been cooked. It was two whole fish plus three extra heads, with so many bones that I spent the meal picking tiny ones from my mouth. When I arrived, I had to look around for staff because nobody was there to greet me, though the person I found was friendly. They only take cash. I wouldn't recommend it or come back.

The location was great when I visited a few years ago, but service was poor. Cleanliness and comfort were very bad, and the room wasn't tidy either. Food quality was only so-so, the pool was poor, and the value for money was awful. Management needs to take service, cleanliness, and food quality seriously if they want foreign visitors to enjoy staying here.

The scenery is amazing, the air and temperature are pleasant, and the food tastes good for the affordable prices. We sat at the outer edge nearest the lake, but flies kept swarming our food even with four candles provided. Hopefully management can consider adding a fan to help keep them away.
