AQ-VA Hotel & Villas Seminyak

The courtyard and pool are lovely, and I often stop by for coffee. Breakfast costs a bit much, though it includes a small coffee, so it's not too bad. I had a look at the rooms, which are large and well equipped. They're usually outside my budget, but if you find one for $50, give it a try. I'd avoid the rooms above the Resto because traffic noise from the street gets in.

The location is right among Seminyak's bustle, but it was still peaceful at night. The villas were spotless, with huge rooms, big comfy beds and fluffy pillows. The bathroom was beautiful, there was plenty of hot water, and the air-con was icy cold. The staff were such caring, happy people. The pool in the sunny courtyard was great, and there was always space. Breakfast was included and so fresh and delicious, like a Michelin chef had made it. I'd come back just for breakfast, haha. Absolutely wonderful stay, 100000/10, A++++++. BRAVO AQ-VA 👏

The location was excellent, but we were disappointed with our stay at AQ-VA. After a delayed flight, we arrived late and were put in a room behind the lobby, despite having paid for a deluxe pool access room. Two staff members insisted it counted as pool access, even though it was nowhere near the pool. We spent the first night there. It was run down and not very clean, with ants in the bathroom and barely any hot water. They moved us to another room, which was newly renovated, fresher, cleaner and more spacious, but still didn't have pool access as booked. The shower was difficult to use: it started extremely hot with no cold water, then turned cold within two minutes. Two staff members came to check it. One said nothing was wrong, and the other seemed to think it had been fixed, but it hadn't. The air conditioning also stopped working, and I had to follow up with staff twice. A lot of other little things made the stay disappointing. I've visited Bali many times and won't stay here again.

I booked and paid extra for a third person, my 11-year-old child, and also paid for breakfast for three. Yet we were given only two towels and two bottles of water, and told only two people could have breakfast. I was made to feel like a nuisance when I asked for two single beds instead of one queen, and they didn't even have three beds available. Why was I charged for the third person?
