Fairfield by Marriott Bali Kuta Sunset Road

The flooded lane on checkout morning, 24th Feb, 2026, was the worst part of our stay. Drivers were reluctant to enter for our Gojek pickup, and staff wouldn't help with the luggage or getting us out, even when we asked. We had to carry everything ourselves through the rainwater to the main road to find a taxi to the airport. The hotel had no airport transfer service either. We nearly missed airport check-in. For a 4/5-star branded property, that lack of support was extremely disappointing. The area seems prone to flooding, as even moderate rain caused waterlogging that cut the hotel off from the main road. Hospitality was disappointing in other ways too. We saw foreign guests offered welcome drinks, while we weren't offered one and had to ask if it was included. When we politely asked reception what our stay included, the reply felt curt and unwelcoming. The warmth we experienced elsewhere in Bali was missing. Breakfast was limited in vegetarian choices, variety, and quality compared with other places we'd stayed, and didn't meet our expectations for the price and category. The clean, modern room also felt affected by cost cutting, such as replacing individual bottled water with a shared 20L dispenser. It was far from reception and dining, making trips around the property take longer than they should. At these rates, Bali has better villas and resorts with stronger service, better breakfast, and warmer hospitality. This was our worst stay in Bali, and the contrast with the hospitality we're used to back home was stark. We wouldn't recommend the property.

The restaurant was great, and breakfast was the best. Staff were lovely and very apologetic, especially Jessie, who was a star. We stayed one night because the hotel is closer to the airport, and the service was great. We were put in a corner room that seemed unused for a while, and then we understood why. There's a chicken and rooster farm behind the hotel, not run by the hotel, and the roosters were loud from early morning until around noon. I'd still recommend staying, but definitely ask for a quiet room.

I picked this place because Arc dentist is just a two minute walk away. The staff were welcoming and gave me a free room upgrade. The room was clean, with a great view over the pool. The fitness centre has a treadmill, airwalker, bike, pull-up bar, dumbbells up to 22kg, and machines for chest press, flys, rowing, triceps, and more. Yoga mats, resistance bands, and towels are provided. You just have to work out how to use some of the equipment. The burger and chips at the restaurant were okay, and the B'coco smoothie was really good.

Access to the beach made our stay especially convenient, and the room was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant staff made breakfast feel personal, offering special dishes each morning. We loved the avocado toast. Big thanks to Fina & Fibri, who were wonderful and remembered what we liked each day.
