Fat Yogi Cottages

Fat Yogis was ok for a second stay. The room was clean, the pool was nice and breakfast was basic but sufficient. Poppies 1 still hasn’t recovered since 2020 and has lost its vibrancy. Construction opposite FY has made it less enjoyable to be outside. The demolition and rebuilding started in 2022, and the work is still noisy and annoying with no end in sight. When the 400 room hotel opens, the already cramped one way road on Poppies 1 will be chaos. Sadly, that would be the end of Poppies 1 for us, and would affect FY and another nearby hotel we enjoy.

I’ve stayed at Fat yogi many times over the last 10 years. It’s in a good location and is usually quiet, with basic no-frills rooms that were renovated in recent years. Breakfast is basic too. They used to include some fruit, but stopped a few years ago. There used to be a backup generator, but they removed it. When the power goes out now, you’re in total darkness, with no emergency lighting. The best they can offer is candles, even though the price has gone up 20% in the last year. You can find better value for what they’re charging.

The gardens have lovely spots to relax, with plugs so you can work outside, and there’s a great pool. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a huge balcony and a big, clean bathroom. The place is excellent value, and breakfast was good too. It’s quiet but still just minutes from the beach and town. Loved it!

In the heart of Kuta but away from the noisy streets, the location worked well. I liked the pool and the cute garden, a nice place to unwind in the evening. The bedroom was nice and just comfortable enough. The bathroom was old and worn out, and the water flow kept changing, though it was just clean enough.
