GM Bali Guesthouse

There are two shopping malls within walking distance, which is about the only good thing I can say. We had room no,5 for a week, and it was old and filthy. Nobody cleaned it once in 7 days. The lights were very dim, WiFi was unreliable except in the morning, and there was loud music every night that made it hard to sleep. The sheets were dirty, the pillows were yellow and stinky, and even replacement bath towels had dirty spots. We got bitten by lots of bedbugs and could hardly sleep in the hot room. The AC stopped every 30 minutes and blew warm air. The shower was so bad we had to fix it with a plastic bottle, and there were many worms in the dirty bathroom. We didn’t get breakfast. We rented a bike for 70.000 IDR per day. The brakes didn’t work well, the tempometer was broken, three of the four lights didn’t work, and the engine made scary sounds. Test ride before paying, and get a better motorbike for that price. Staff weren’t welcoming or friendly, and they tried to sell us a bike twice. Why? Worst place we’ve ever stayed, even for the cheap price. Not recommended. There are better places to stay for that price in bali.

I was moved from NB to GM, and the room turned out to be bigger and cleaner than I expected. The location was great for finding local food easily. Owner Mr Made was really friendly. A great stay.

A really decent spot for backpackers and solo travelers, tucked away but in a strategic location. There’s a shopping mall right across the street, along with a Mandiri ATM. I highly recommend it.

I booked three nights but left after just one because the rooms were disgustingly dirty. There’s also a bar next to the hotel, and it gets really loud.
