Hotel The Flora Kuta Bali by ZEN Rooms

We stayed longer than planned, extending our one-night booking by two more nights. The room was spacious and clean, with thorough housekeeping every day. I’d read some negative reviews, and I agree a shared balcony between two rooms could feel uncomfortable in some cases. We were lucky and didn’t have noisy neighbours. You get what you pay for.

I had a terrible stay and won’t come back. First, the room setup made me feel unsafe: it looked as if a larger room had been split in two, with a wall and a connecting door between my room and the one next door. We also shared a balcony. If you’re a solo female traveler, someone could open that door at any time. The design is crazy. Then I couldn’t sleep because I got very itchy arms, and I still have a scar. I suspect bed bugs. The second night, people next door played loud music until 3 or 4 am. There was no manager or anyone available to ask for help. There are plenty of places at similar prices with better service, management and room conditions. Don’t waste your time and money here.

A nice little boutique-style hotel built in a U shape around a large pool. The price is great, and being off the main road means there isn’t much traffic noise.

The reception staff were lovely, and the central location made it easy to walk to shops and the beach. It’s not on a busy street, with local restaurants nearby, laundry service across the road, a pool and drinking water. My corner room shared a balcony with the neighbour, and there was noise. People were in the pool at 2 am, and neighbours drank on the balcony late and tried to open our connecting door. The halls felt dark, like alleyways. It was grand for our two nights, but I wore earphones all night. I like quiet places. If late nights and a few drinks are your thing, it probably won’t bother you.
