The place is quiet and close to the beach, but I’d only use it for a night or as a transit stop. My first room smelled so bad I couldn’t stay in it. They moved me upstairs to a much better room, though it had no drinking water, toothbrush, or towel, and the bed wasn’t very clean. For the price, keep your expectations low.

Kuta Beach is surprisingly close, an easy walk, and the price was low compared with other places. Getting there meant using a really narrow road, though. The AC barely worked, the toilet seemed dirty even though the room looked tidy, and our three rooms each had a different comforter. Check-in took ages, and parking was tight too.

Walking to Kuta Beach in the morning or evening is easy from here, and you can rent a motorbike at an affordable price. My room was spacious and comfortable, with good AC, though it needs more regular cleaning. There’s also a cute little puppy that comes by looking for food every afternoon. 🤗🐕

The bathroom was seriously gross, so we showered at beach clubs during our four days in Kuta. The rooms aren’t especially clean either, and anyone who needs cleanliness as a must should look elsewhere. We were backpacking and slept in our own sleeping bags and silk liners, so it worked for us. Some rooms only have a fan, so check before booking. There’s no kitchen or other facilities. Still, if you’re travelling or backpacking and spend more than eight hours a day out, you get privacy for a backpacker price. It’s very central, with what you need just a short walk away. The staff are around 24/7 and are kind and friendly, the building itself is in pretty good shape, and we didn’t see bugs. We saw bugs in some nicer places we stayed in Bali. A lot of the one-star reviews make fair points, but this isn’t a relaxing holiday stay. If you’re here on vacation, this probably isn’t for you. Keep that in mind, it’s not for the faint hearted.
