La Walon Hotel

The menu at La walon poppies lane 1 is huge, and the food is delicious. They make Bali’s best mojitos, too. Lovely service. Definitely add it to your list. Love it!

La Walon is a friendly little oasis in central Kuta, and it’s easy to see why some guests return year after year. The green garden, pool, and massage centre are lovely, and the on-site restaurant is popular with guests, with food and drinks at reasonable prices. The rooms are large and clean, with comfortable beds. The hotel is older, but better maintained than most, and the staff greet you with genuine warmth and are very helpful. There was a small band one night; we could hear it in our room, but it wasn’t loud enough to bother us. I’m happy to recommend La Walon poppies lane kuta, and expect I’ll return myself.

The staff were genuinely lovely, attentive, and kind, which is why I’m giving three stars. The hotel itself was outdated and grimy, and badly needs a deep clean and renovations. There’s also a major construction site across the road, with noise day and night. Staff get 10/10 from me, but the hotel doesn’t.

We were so impressed that I’d pick this place over higher rated hotels. We’d just left a terrible four star hotel and stayed here a couple of nights before our next one. It doesn’t claim to be fancy, but the beds and pillows were incredibly clean and comfortable. There’s a good restaurant and bar downstairs, a nice pool, and spa and braid services right by the pool, so you don’t have to haggle on the street. The staff were lovely, and our room was cleaned perfectly in the morning.
