The pool and outdoor space looked cute, but the lounge chairs seemed like they hadn’t been cleaned in months. The WiFi wasn’t great either. We’d paid for three nights upfront, which was a mistake. The hygiene was the worst of anywhere I stayed on my Southeast Asia trip. Our first room was dirty, with stains on the sheets and throughout a grim bathroom. After the toilet broke, we were moved, but the new room smelled strongly of mould. Its toilet was stained too, and the door wouldn’t shut. Brown water came from the tap until we let it run for a while. It’s a shame, because a deep clean and some attention could make this place nice. A few staff members were lovely, and I know this wasn’t their fault. Maybe rooms vary, since some reviews are completely opposite to what I experienced.

This was the worst of the four places we booked. The rooms were dirty, there were no toiletries, and the badly designed shower lets water almost reach the room. For the same price, there are plenty of nice places to stay in Kuta. You’d be better off on the street than here. Avoid it.

Room 12 was awful, so stay away from it. The damp bedding and toilet paper, dirty bathroom, and heavy mould smell made us want to leave straight away. I’m not fussy, but this was easily the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Maybe the other rooms are better. Service was mixed: one man was very friendly and apologetic, while another seemed not to care. I can’t understand all the good reviews. The place needs serious care.

For a short Bali layover, this seems like a good option. Kuta Beach is a 10-15 minute walk away, and while it isn’t the best beach, it’s still nice to get some sun. The hotel is on a small alley off the main road, easy to find and quiet at night. Staff were warm and helpful, and it seems family-run. The garden and pool are nice places to unwind. At around 20 USD a night, the room was clean and good value. Just watch out for red ants near the recliners under the tree.

At 250k IDR per night in the busy season, this was great value and nearly everything was just right. The room was lovely and had a nice terrace, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. There are lots of tasty, inexpensive warungs nearby. A couple of things could be better: breakfast was filling but bland, and I’d have liked the option to eat on my terrace instead of going to the dining hall. The supply room beside the pool was messy and stood out in the otherwise beautiful garden.
