Puri Cendana Resort Bali

The garden gives this peaceful place an extra special feel, and the pool is lovely for unwinding. The food was delicious and the staff incredibly friendly. It’s right by the beach and near plenty of shops, restaurants, and spas. This is a traditional Balinese stay where you can really feel the Balinese spirit. I thought it was much better than some pricier resorts nearby and very good value. Highly recommended!

The fresh ginger welcome drink is amazing. I ended up ordering it instead of beer most days. Puri Cendana has become my favourite little oasis in Seminyak, and this was my fourth or fifth stay. I’ll keep coming back. It’s peaceful, clean, full of character, and has a limited number of rooms, which keeps it personal and calm. The staff are unusually attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly without hovering. I was never left waiting or unsure where to go. Tables were cleared promptly, which you don’t often get in Bali, and staff checked I had what I needed without interrupting. Everyone was warm and kind. Risa in the restaurant deserves a special mention. She’s sweet and considerate, always smiling, and great to talk with about Bali life and culture. Her smile and mood are infectious. The food was really good, too. Guests apparently get 15% off meals, and they told me after I ordered. I appreciated that, since other places with similar offers only seem to apply them if you ask. Rooms are lovely and spotless among well kept tropical gardens. The pool is gorgeous. I had a beer there and even ate dinner sitting in the water one night. I’m not sure if that’s usually allowed, but they knew I’d be respectful and were accommodating. My 15-year-old son came this trip and loved it. We both felt completely safe with him swimming or relaxing on his own. Seminyak Beach is a couple of minutes away on foot, great for sunset walks or a drink at a beach bar. Everything is close, but the resort is tucked away from traffic and noise and feels miles away once inside. I also had a massage from the lovely woman onsite, I think her name was Desak. She had strong hands and charged a very reasonable price, just right after a long day. The price is very good compared with some places, though if price is your only concern, you can find cheaper and this may not be for you. It isn’t aimed at the super-budget crowd. The guests are relaxed, respectful, and chilled, not cheap party animals, which is exactly the atmosphere I like. You can see they reinvest in the surroundings. Puri Cendana is a beautiful, genuine place with heart. I’ll be back many times, I’m sure. Risa, please don’t ever leave. Your smile lights up the room and puts even the beach sunset to shame.

This was our first proper meal after landing in Bali, and the food was so good and worth the price. We loved the relaxing atmosphere and the staff, who were all polite, respectful, and very kind.

I had the Ayam Bakar Madu and it was delicious. They have lots of special offers, and there’s a swimming pool too. The staff are very friendly, and it’s a good place to come for a meal.
