We loved the breakfast, especially the pancakes, and the staff were great about helping us rent a bike. The town is very close, with a laundry across the road. The pool was always cold. The airport shuttle was handy too, they dropped us off at 5 a.m.

We left Santai Retreat and lost our money after a really bad stay and a dismissive response from the manager. When we asked to cancel, the manager said, “I'm busy, I don't care,” and they made the cancellation difficult. The trouble started with the condition of the place. The houses were dirty, poorly maintained, and had damp walls, with insects and mice around. On our first night, two mice were in our room. Reception couldn’t deal with it straight away and offered no alternative. At 4 a.m., after hearing them again, we called back and asked to move because we didn’t want to sleep there. The receptionist understood and changed our room. The poor cleanliness and neglect weren’t apparent in the photos.

We’d happily stay in Kuta again. The homestay was relaxing, with a lovely garden and a nice pool, and our room was cleaned regularly with fresh towels. Breakfast each morning was great, especially the pancakes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was excellent value for money.

The private villa was brilliant, especially the privacy and the parking for both the car and bikes. It’s in a great location, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The villa was comfortable, with new pillows and great mattresses. Juna and the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We’ll see you in nine weeks 🙂

We spent our time sitting by the pool, watching the sunrise and joking around with the hosts. They looked after us so well, and we came away with lovely memories. The rooms are simple but spacious. Thank you for making such beautiful memories with us. Kane and Sarah
