POP! Hotel Kuta Beach Bali

I paid around 200K without breakfast, which felt like a good deal, and the staff were helpful. It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk from Legian/Kuta Beach. I stayed one night. The room was fine, though dated and in need of a little renovation, and the AC dripped all night. It was bearable, and I might stay again.

The bed was comfortable, the aircon was good, and the location worked well. But there was mould in the showers, the hallways smelled like rotting food, and there weren’t any decent-sized towels for the pool. We’ve stayed elsewhere with much better service for the price.

Breakfast was a letdown: it was cold, bland, and poorly cooked. The soup and vegetables didn’t taste good, the coffee was watery, and service was slow. We also got conflicting information from the receptionist and technician. I’d asked for a double bed but was given twin beds instead. In the room, the door partition was loose, the sink area was already cracked, and the toilet flush was hard to use. The hot water never worked during our stay, and the water heater had to be pumped. The reading lamp was broken from the start; the first replacement didn’t work either, and only the second one, with a charger, worked properly. It was a very disappointing stay at Pop Hotel Kuta. I won’t stay here again and can’t recommend it.

The staff were so sweet, and the beach is a quick walk away. The room’s tiny, the AC takes a while, and the bathroom’s just okay, but for the cheap price it fits.
