Sari Agung Hotel

We arrived at 10:30 pm, well before the midnight check-in cutoff, but the reception was empty except for a little girl. She said there were no rooms available, then went back to her phone. We asked to speak to an adult, and eventually someone came, but still said they were fully booked. I explained that we'd booked and paid online. We did eventually get a room, though it had two single beds instead of the double we'd reserved. We kept it because it was already after 11 pm and we were staying just one night. The room smelled damp and every wall was moldy. It was the worst hotel and room I've ever experienced. Disgusting.

It's close to the beach, mall, restaurants, and discos, yet the place is really quiet. We like staying here. The toilet looks new and is very clean, and there's a nice balcony with a table and chairs, plus a large cupboard. The TV deserves a mention too, with lots of English channels for news, sports, music, and movies. Breakfast is brought to the room and is generous compared with other places, with fruit, toast, coffee, jam, butter, and a fried egg. The shower curtain isn't great, and there's mold on the ceiling, but there's no smell, so we were OK with the room.

Nothing looked like the photo in the app. There were mosquitoes, bed bugs, and cockroaches, and the bed was dirty. They didn't even sweep or mop the floor. The door lock was jammed, and they charged far too much.

The entrance can be a bit off-putting, but the hotel itself is nice. My room was good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s near the beach without costing much. I really liked it.
