Villa D' Carik Legian

We had three adults and fourkids here, and the kids loved all 10days of it. The villa is spacious, the air conditioning is cool, and the price felt fair. Don't expect a top shelf place, it's Bali, and people are doing their best. The housekeeping boys were very pleasant and helped a lot whenever we asked. WiFi was good, and you can walk to everything. It’s close to Kuta, with 30k blue bird taxi rides everywhere. Just down the road are a safe money exchange, minimarts, massage, tattoo places, and restaurants. I'd book again next time and recommend it to families looking for decent accommodation.

The sheets were the worst part. We found stains and little hairs on them at bedtime, and they clearly hadn't been changed after the previous guest. We had to sleep with our clothes underneath us, then rush to the first available hotel room in ubud in the morning. We'd booked a private villa, but arriving meant waiting 40 mn because nobody was there to let us in. The pool was okay, though the outdoor furniture was very worn. Inside, it was really dirty: cobwebs all over, a bad bathroom smell, dusty racks we had to clean before putting our clothes away, dirt behind the bedside tables, and rusty old bathroom accessories by the sink. The villa is cleaned by some kids, and breakfast wasn't available, despite being mentioned on the Air BnB listing.

There was a dead lizard in the pool and nobody seemed to care. A staff member took the money, locked her room, and left. Disgusting service.

Room service was great and the room was clean. The AC could use a little more work, though.
