The pool made a great first impression as soon as we entered, clean and inviting. The villa felt comfortable for our group of 3 families, and we stayed for 4 nights in June. The kitchen and living area had room for a small group, while the high ceiling and glass sliding doors let in lots of light. There was a modern Balinese style, a large dining table for 8, and a comfortable gazebo beside the pool. The kids enjoyed the fish pond with a turtle. Our rooms were cleaned, and the housekeepers were friendly and helpful. We had fresh bath and pool towels, plus shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the shower. Information cards listed in-villa massage options and western or Indonesian breakfasts. Wifi was ok, though it could slow down with more than 5 people connected. There were signs of wear, like broken floor boards, cracked or missing tiles, missing bathroom locks and pool bricks that might drop objects. Mosquitoes came out in swarms at night, though the villa provided coils. We also found some centipedes in our bathroom, so I’d spray the room and bathroom well. Still, it was a comfortable stay, near a convenience shop and plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Our host Ketut was wonderful and accommodated all our needs. Her cooking was excellent, too. The villa itself is stunning and huge, with a perfect location.

We had a great time here, with hosts who were there whenever we needed something. They’re amazing people, and I can’t put into words how much we appreciated them. It’s one of the best properties we’ve visited: clean, good-looking, spacious and equipped with everything you need. The pool was simply amazing. Highly recommend this place.

Odyssey is a modern, well-designed holiday home, though the price is on the steep side. It’s off a side road from the main road, and the walk in is a long way, as the photos show. Even so, my family enjoyed our time there. The place was clean, and the housekeepers were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was average, just basic toast and orange juice or mixed noodles or fried rice. Some walls, corners and toilet tiles were chipped or a little run down, perhaps from water damage. While we were staying in one day, electricians rang the doorbell saying they were there for “lightings”. It worries me that the owner may have let them in while we weren’t there, with our valuables around.

Denny, Ketut and Ucci looked after us so well during our week at Villa Odyssey. We didn’t want for anything and had a great time. The villa is close to all the Seminyak action, but away from the busiest streets, so it still feels peaceful and private. I’d recommend it as a great place to stay.
