Villa Sanook in Kuta

We had three families staying here, six adults and two young kids. It’s a little removed from the hustle and bustle, which made for a quieter holiday. The place was kept very tidy and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was nice, though we usually ate at nearby restaurants. They kept in touch during the trip and arranged a few transfers for us.

Everything we needed was provided, and the kitchen and indoor living room stayed free of dust and mosquitoes. The villa was beautiful, well cared for, very clean and quiet, just what we wanted for our holiday. Our group had a great time here.

We stayed at Villa Sanook Pattaya in November 2023. The owner did bring round plates, cups, knives and forks after I spoke to him, and he fixed the front door lock by putting on a huge padlock. It looked ridiculous, like a garden shed door, and then we couldn’t lock it from inside. Still, at least those items were brought after we arrived. The villa was advertised for eight, but the dining table only seated six. We found just one teaspoon, three cups, four plates, five knives and three cereal bowls, along with other kitchen issues. It’s a three bedroom villa, not four. The supposed fourth bed is in the garage. The photos are old and give a false impression: this is nowhere near a luxury villa. The place is run down and needs a complete refurbishment, with everything replaced and redecorated. The locks were broken, so we couldn’t properly secure the villa. Outside, two sun loungers were broken, the patio set was old and damaged, and the parasol was broken. It had already been mentioned in another review and still hadn’t been replaced. All the toilets need attention because water runs constantly, and the cisterns need repairs. One had a broken lid that had also been reported and left unrepaired. The outdoor electrical box was open with wires sticking out, which is dangerous around children. The owner seems not to care once he has your money. I’d give it one star. Using misleading advertising and old photos to take money from paying guests is completely unacceptable. The owner should spend money on the villa and stop exploiting the public. If you’ve booked it, cancel and get your money back.

The kids loved the pool, and the villa was clean and in a convenient spot. We had a great stay at Villa Sanook with four adults and three children, and it was still very comfortable. It does look a bit more worn than in the photos, with stains on the couch and frayed linen.
