Villa Tepi Sungai

It felt private while still being close to everything, and the communication was smooth throughout. The villa was clean, nicely presented, and had what we needed to relax. We’d absolutely come back.

The location was convenient but still peaceful, and the team was quick to help whenever we needed anything. Villa Tepi Sungai was spacious, very clean, well maintained, and just as described. We’d definitely stay again.

A 15 meter pool, space for yoga or sunbathing, and even 2 x PlayStations. There are 7ft Hindu statues and a Buddha beside the tranquil flowing water, which gives the place a serene, quiet feel. It sleeps 14 people, with aircon and a garage, so it suits a family get together or friends. The beach, shops, gym, and hospital are closer by, and the owners are lovely, with friendly staff.

We felt uncomfortable with workers sitting in an 'Office' room attached to the villa kitchen, and we weren’t left alone. Getting around with children was also difficult, since shops and restaurants weren’t within walking distance and we needed taxis. The photos showed Grass, but the ground was stones, and empty beer bottles had been left around. The villa was incredibly dirty when we arrived, and we asked for a refund so we could leave. Valerie, the manager, was rude, unhelpful, and refused. The bathrooms had mold in the showers and bath, toothpaste was on the basins and mirrors, food was spilt on the kitchen cupboards, and the sink and splash back were grimy. The utensils were filthy, and even the cook who came for breakfast commented on it. The floor was so dirty our feet turned black. There was no hot running water in the kitchen. When we raised it, the manager said we should go to 5 star accommodation if we wanted hot water, as this villa is only 4. The downstairs bathroom felt unsafe for children, with water that drizzled out and was either cold or boiling hot. We had to keep asking for clean towels, and they were always stained and below what you’d expect from a villa.
