Villa Vela

The pool was one of the main reasons we picked Villa Vela, so it was a big disappointment that it was out of use for the final three days of our trip for “maintenance.” It also seemed to be cleaned only after it had already gotten quite dirty. We weren’t clearly told when booking that the pool is shared among five villas, which felt misleading. Service was another ongoing frustration. Cleanliness was average at best, and we repeatedly had to ask for fresh bath and pool towels. Room service was unavailable on at least three or four occasions on different days, which made it hard to relax and enjoy our stay. For my daughter’s birthday, I’d arranged a room setup with a $300 AUD budget, expecting something special. What we found looked worth no more than $150, but we were still asked to pay the full $300. I offered to pay by card, but was told it had to be cash. That left me wondering whether the villa owner knew about these transactions or whether the money was being handled appropriately. It felt overpriced and poorly done, especially since I could have arranged something better myself for much less. My recent stay at Villa Vela in Seminyak was disappointing. Overall, the service, transparency, and value for money didn’t meet expectations.
