Indra Maya Pool Villas

The pool was nice, though it had quite a lot of leaves in it. We liked having complimentary drinks in the room, with fresh ones brought each day. Our large family fit comfortably in a single villa, and the place itself was very nice. For water activities, I'd suggest coming outside monsoon season. Those activities are at other resorts, and it's quite walkable to get there. We appreciated having a buggy to drive around, especially since it gets very dark at night and it's easy to lose your way.

The monsoon lull meant there were only a few other families around, so we practically had the resort to ourselves. There was enough to keep us occupied, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved how spacious, private, and convenient the villa was. Having our own buggy to drive around the resort added a lot to the experience. We had a great stay and would come back.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and they spoke English well, so communication was easy. The villa was large and very nice, although all the plants and water around it brought an army of mosquitoes. Remember to bring mosquito coils. The resort is big, with plenty of activities, but unfortunately some aren't well kept. The food wasn't that fantastic either. It's a nice place to chill if you're not looking for too much hustle and bustle.

We still enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, spoke English, and acted promptly when we reported issues. Still, it would've been better not to have to report things that weren't working right after check-in. The facilities for activities could be maintained better, and expectations could be explained more clearly. It's a good fit if you just want to relax by the pool without doing much. We couldn't go beyond the resort grounds unless we hired a vehicle, since the free shuttle had been cancelled since COVID. Some activity facilities at Nirwana Resorts looked old and poorly maintained, and I didn't feel safe using them. The air gun jammed several times during my 50-pellet session. The bungalow was spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, large bathrooms, and a nice patio and pool view. The living room TV was smart and Netflix-ready, but at 32 inches it seemed small for the large living area, especially with only a two-seat sofa in front of it in a bungalow for up to eight. The master bedroom TV only had local channels; the picture was so fuzzy it couldn't be watched. The outdoor bath and shower for the master bedroom didn't work properly. We mentioned it to reception on the way to lunch, and someone came right away. By the time we returned, the shower worked, but the bath tap didn't, so we gave up. The master toilet seat was the wrong fit, with a gap and a seat that moved when anyone sat down. Not comfortable. We also left unopened food on the kitchen counter overnight and found it moved to the other end with holes in the packaging. Staff said it was likely a squirrel, as there are plenty in the area. Some items shown on the website as included or complimentary weren't provided. Reception told us they were chargeable or had already been unavailable for some time. In the response to my original post, they explained that the website listings didn't apply to our stay because it was a corporate-owned villa rental. Unfortunately, the front desk hadn't made that clear at the time.
