Kubu Sunset Guest House

The road is a little rough and it’s a bit far out, so I’d say renting a scooter is a must. Still, I’d definitely come back. The owners are friendly and do their best to accommodate you. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we left our bag at reception. When we returned later, they’d put it in our room for us, which was so nice. The deal is really good for the price. Clean room, clean outdoor bathroom, fresh sheets and a comfy bed. There’s a huge grassy backyard that’d be great for barefoot sports, plus a nice pool.

We weren’t sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. It’s a simple, no frills place, with clean rooms, good aircon, and a private bathroom. It can feel a bit like the middle of nowhere, slightly off track, but don’t let that put you off. Sunset point and mushroom beach are both about a five minute walk away. I’d stay again.

The family running the Guesthouse were super friendly and helpful, and you can rent a scooter to get around the island. We could walk to the mushroom Beach and a beautiful sunset point. It’s one of the best places we stayed on our trip, with a peaceful atmosphere, a nice pool, and a lovely outdoor bathroom.

The family were lovely, and the pool was great. Rooms are massive, the beds are super comfortable, and I had the best night’s sleep ever. There’s a cute outdoor shower too. Such an amazing, cute place tucked off the beaten track. 10/10, I’d definitely stay again!
