We were surprised by the negative reviews we’d seen, since none of those problems came up for us. In fact, most of the people we spoke with were returning guests. We had a great stay at Mega Cottages, and would definitely come back. The staff were wonderful, the room was great, and the location was good. The beach is lovely, though there’s coral, so bring aqua socks or shoes rather than walking barefoot. You can rent scooters there, which was handy. The air conditioning could’ve been a little stronger, but it was okay.

The restaurant right on the beach is very affordable, without the extra charges you see at other places around the island. My husband had a coffee there and thought it was great for the price. Mosquitoes are around, so stay alert, though they do provide a net. The location is perfect. In the room, the main annoyance was feeling my partner move whenever they rolled over.

We used the sunbeds here on two different days during our trip and had a really nice time both times. They were 50k each for the day. The music was really good and the drinks were nice. The food could be better, and the pool could use a clean, but otherwise we were very happy :)

We liked it enough to come back the next afternoon for another round. The happy hour was just what I was looking for: I dropped into a bean bag, enjoyed the relaxed vibe with around three couples nearby, and the waiter brought me a lychee martini and a tallie of bintang. Superb! They did close early for a ‘ceremony’, which seemed to be the Balinese way of saying it was an early knock. 😊

The coffee and food were great, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Staff are cheerful and really friendly, and it’s in a great spot on the beach. The place could use some care all around. Getting out of the pool is slippery and dangerous, with no handrail, and the floor needs to be non-slip. I also hate the walk in from the street, though there’s no other option.
