Rama Beach Inn

The hotel is in a handy spot beside the dive center and directly across from the beach. The pool is good, and breakfast is decent. During our four nights, housekeeping only came on the second day, despite my putting the “please make up the room” sign on the door. We got drinking water only on check-in, with no refill. Coffee and tea bags were in the room, but there were no cups or mugs. I asked reception twice and didn’t get them. The hot shower didn’t work well, and there was only a small place in the bathroom to hang clothes.

The rooms were in poor condition, with visible mould, stained sheets, and bath towels that were stained or had holes. There was mould and grime around the shower and basin taps, too. Water frequently stopped altogether, and when it ran, we had ongoing hot-water problems. We arrived without pool towels or blankets. Staff said both were in the laundry, but even after two days, neither had turned up. They finally provided them on day three, after we contacted the head manager directly. Until then, staff were mostly unhelpful and sometimes quite rude when we raised the problems. This stay was a major letdown, and I wouldn’t recommend the place unless cleanliness, service, and basic amenities improve a lot.

The pool was the one thing we liked, with a great view over the beach. Without it, we honestly wouldn’t have stayed past the first night. The stay at Scooby Doo Bungalow in Nusa Lembongan was well below expectations, and despite looking affordable, it wasn’t worth the cost. I’d avoid it. I’ve stayed at Linda Beach Resort down the beach for half the price and never had these problems. Our bungalow was in terrible shape. Fixtures were corroded and loose, the curtain rail was broken, and there was nowhere to hang a towel. There was mould, dirt, and spider webs throughout. During our five nights, the one outdoor bin wasn’t emptied once. Service was disappointing despite there being plenty of staff. Most seemed uninterested, often on their phones or chatting and laughing. Several evenings we came back to find them gathered to play guitar and sing, ignoring us at the bar while we waited to order a drink. We asked for pool towels on day one and were told only one was available, with the rest in the laundry. We heard the same thing for several days until we contacted the manager on WhatsApp and finally got towels. There were no blankets on our beds either, and asking for them led to the same problem. The power went out four times and the water stopped several times as well. The food was subpar: our spring rolls were frozen in the middle, and a friend found bits of pink plastic in their pancakes.

The grounds are lovely, and the location is great. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. But it’s a budget place with some real gaps: there’s no fridge, housekeeping, fresh water, clothes storage, or safe in the room, so you have to buy drinking water. The bathroom is very old and poorly kept. There’s nowhere indoors to hang bath towels, just an outdoor rack for swimwear and pool towels. We stayed four days and used the same bath towels throughout. After people eat by the pool, staff take a long time to clear the plates. It’s fine for a short budget stay, but I wouldn’t choose it for a few weeks.
