Hotel O Wisma Kuta Karang

My German friend had booked for the same date with pay upon check in and also got no room, but was then offered one at twice the Traveloka app price. So there seemed to be rooms available. After we challenged the staff, they said only some rooms were offered through a partnership with OYO, while the hotel management handled the rest separately. “unbeliveble,” my friend said. I booked through Traveloka and paid in full for two nights, September 20 to 22. I arrived around 4pm on the 20th after a 6 hour drive from Banda Aceh, and was told there were no rooms. The staff said the hotel had been fully booked on my arrival date even when I booked more than a week earlier. I don’t think that explanation makes sense. It was a really bad experience after such a tiring trip. The hotel staff were 'jutek' and unfriendly, had no clue how to handle customers, and kept shifting responsibility between themselves and OYO management. They told me to call OYO. OYO said there was no room and asked me to request a refund through Traveloka, even though the app only allowed refunds one day before check-in, on the 19th. I ended up contacting Traveloka CS by email/chat to submit the refund.
