OYO 1966 Bromo Hill

The booking price online was false. I paid for two rooms but they only let me use one, then charged extra outside the app.

The prices felt too high, and the place was in horrible shape when I stayed. The lights were always on, and there were many red stains that had clearly never been cleaned. I wouldn’t choose it.

A few days ago, I booked through Traveloka with payment due at check-in. Since the place was nearby, I checked the location beforehand and found they wanted another 100 percent of the room rate. They claimed they weren’t affiliated with anyone, which was ridiculous, so I canceled. Four guests that day were being asked to pay extra too, which felt like extortion. From other customers’ reviews, this seems to be their usual approach. They ask for extra money while the service and facilities don’t measure up, and it’s still just a decent boarding house. Even the receptionist’s room looks like a cage. Please have the relevant authorities investigate this thoroughly so customers aren’t harmed. Thank you.

The drive in was difficult, winding uphill through the village, and the parking area was cramped. My room had peeling paint on the walls and mold, and the overall condition was just so-so. There was a water heater, though it wasn’t very good. For a price around 84,000 Rupiah on the app, the hotel would only let us have the room for at least 150,000 Rupiah a night when we arrived. I don’t know how OYO works, but that doesn’t make sense. I complained to OYO, but they haven’t responded. Both sides should think about what they can improve. Budget backpackers can stay here if they want. It probably isn’t as bad as my review makes it sound, but I was already getting emotional. Sorry I didn’t take photos, I was in a hurry to leave because I was VERY DISSATISFIED.
