Cheap or not, I've stayed in cheaper, lower-star hotels that were far better. This room was in terrible shape, and there were cockroaches when we walked in. They were small, but still cockroaches! It smelled musty, the shower curtain was badly stained as if it hadn't been changed in decades, and the TV didn't work. The shower knob and tap were rusty and crusted over, and the linens were dirty, with stain marks across the bedsheet. On top of that, they charged us if the linen we used had stains, even when those stains could be washed out. The linen was still dirty despite the extra charge for our supposedly 'dirty' linen. You'd think that fee would mean they'd clean it properly. Very disappointing, times a billion. Do better, Grand Imawan.

The hotel needs better staff briefings, especially when the meeting room is in use, because things get chaotic. One staff member spoke rudely to a guest and even cursed. Service was slow, the towels and bathroom smelled bad, and the staff member was rude. How can someone work in hospitality without treating guests properly? Hope things improve soon.

The staff were nice, but breakfast was cold and the room had an impressive number of stains. I even found hairs in the bed, which made me wonder if the bedding gets washed at all. It may be inexpensive, but I wouldn't recommend it. Extremely unhygienic.

At this price, I'd recommend staying somewhere else. The place was smelly and the service was bad, like nobody cared. Maybe the staff aren't paid well, which could explain how lazy they seemed and why the service felt below even one star. It honestly felt like the owners built this hotel just to launder money.

The hotel is easy to reach from the main road, with restaurants, a mall, and other public places nearby. There are smoking and non-smoking rooms on separate floors. The bedrooms are cozy and have the usual things like a TV, chair, and desk, plus there's a restaurant and a mini ballroom. A nice place to spend the night in Makassar.
