The best time to see Alun-Alun Malang is after dark, when colorful lights brighten the square and people gather for street food, photos, or a rest on the benches. Families, friends, and visitors give it a lively feel. There are cafes, shops, and historic sights nearby, including Malang City Hall and the Great Mosque. It's easy to get around on foot, and the square is clean and well looked after. The gardens, fountains, and twin banyan trees make a pleasant setting. With its mix of local life, history, and culture, Alun-Alun Malang is a lovely place for a stroll or photos in the heart of the city.

There's no fee to enter this open-air park in the center of Malang. It has green surroundings and places to sit, plus pigeons that visitors can feed and a playground for kids.

I only passed through on my way to a nearby mosque, so I didn't get to spend much time there. Still, the central open space looked clean, lively, and well organized. It seems like a nice place to relax or meet up with family and friends, and Alun-Alun Kota Malang looks worth a stop when you're in Malang.
