Loji Rejo Guest House

Villa Tidar is a quiet complex right in central Malang, and I was able to check in as soon as I arrived at 1 pm. I stayed one night and had a great time, especially for such a budget-friendly place. The owner was really friendly. I'd pick an upstairs room for more quiet and privacy. You might even get one with a balcony, which is a nice bonus at this price. The room had a good bed, cupboard, TV, two bottles of mineral water, toiletries if booked through oyo, and a hot and cold shower. I doubt you'll need the AC since Malang is pretty cold. For the best price, book through agoda.

The food was a highlight for me. Their nasi goreng was the best I've had, and I ate it for breakfast almost every day. The fresh-tasting apple juice was great too. I spent two weeks at Loji Rejo Guest House for a very reasonable price. It's in a nice neighborhood near the University, with a fun futsal court and a great restaurant across the street. The staff were so kind and made things easy even though my Bahasa is terrible. I had a comfortable bed, my own bathroom, and an air conditioner. Bugs can come in through the open windows if the lights are left on after dark, but that's easy to avoid. There was also a loud rooster nearby, though it didn't bother me.

It's close to kl express, which stays open 24 hours. The place was a little dirty, though maybe that's because it's also used as a boarding house.

The way to the house is a bit confusing, and it's too far from the city. Still, it's a good option for a cheap-class hotel.
