SPOT ON 91317 Gemilang Guesthouse Syariah

The staff were mostly friendly and tried to help when we asked, and the price was reasonable. There are also good restaurants close by. The room itself had several problems. Animal droppings, possibly from a gecko or a mouse, were on the windowsill and desk. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke the whole time, perhaps from staff smoking in a nearby room. The sound insulation was poor, so the calls to prayer came through very loudly. Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and the phone couldn't make local calls. The safe and kettle also didn't work properly, and overall the place seemed poorly maintained. There’s no ramp at the entrance, and no one offered to help with our heavy bags, which would be difficult for someone with limited mobility.

The staff were really friendly, and the location makes it easy to get around. Klojen market is nearby, with plenty of food options. The room wasn't comfortable. The bed was actually two twins pushed together to look like a king, and the Wi-Fi was really bad. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for business because the internet connection is so poor.

The room started playing smooth jazz as soon as I walked in, which was my favorite part. It was clean, though the shower head may need replacing. Staff were friendly, and they offer breakfast to go for guests leaving at 5am. We ordered it, but it took nearly half an hour to arrive, so maybe they forgot about it. Most of the main attractions are close enough to reach on foot.

The location is convenient, the room was good, and the staff were helpful. Service was good too.
