Puji Homestay

Ibu Putu made the most delicious omelette we've had on our travels, full of flavour and vegetables, and breakfast was yummy every morning. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a double bed, little table, wardrobe, shower with cold water only (which was nice in the heat), and a clean toilet with paper and a bidet. We came for one night and extended to four. The kindhearted family made us feel right at home in their quiet, traditional balinese complex, with smiles and cute kids playing around. During our stay there was a balinese temple celebration, and they invited us to join and eat with them. Such a joy to stay here. We'll come back after our Lombok trip before leaving the island. I spent just one night here. The homestay is in the Hindu part of Mataram, and the owner was helpful. Even though it was a Hindu traditional day, breakfast was served on time. The place was clean and simple, but very okay.

The location is excellent, right in the center, with lots of shops and restaurants an easy walk away. Rooms are simple, but very clean and good value, and the management are friendly. There is some noise from the courtyard and several nearby mosques.

The house is arranged around a beautiful Hindu shrine, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. I've stayed twice and can recommend it. For the price, I haven't had a better room, and breakfast is good, freshly cooked every day.
