Akusara Jungle Resort And Spa

If you want some peace and quiet, I'd wholeheartedly recommend Akusara. The rooms were beautiful and clean, and the service was exceptionally friendly. Geckos kept us company during the stay. The location is far from everything, but the hotel has taxis, so you can call the driver directly and arrange a ride. It met all our expectations.

Our stay was pathetic and frightening. We didn't even have dinner that day, and neither 30 sundays trip company nor the hotel could resolve the problem. I had booked through the 30 sundays app and was told there would be a restaurant and bar at the resort, which was also listed on different Google sites, but there was neither. There's no in-house restaurant or anywhere to eat nearby. The resort has no Wi-Fi or charging point, and there were no phones in the room to call reception. The doors didn't have proper locks, and the bathroom was open. Before check-in we had to sign a form saying that, since we were staying in a jungle resort, they weren't responsible for mishaps involving animals. Breakfast was just for show, with no options, especially for vegetarians.

Having only four separate cabins made the resort feel personal and quiet, and it was easy to disconnect. Just expect geckos at night and roosters from about 5am. We paid €220 for two nights, which felt overpriced compared with what the same money got us elsewhere in Indonesia. Breakfast was basic: one dish, fruit, and a hot drink, with no juice included. The resort has “spa” in its title, but there was no spa there. Restaurants are a bit far, so you have to rely on the resort for rides. There is no Gojeck here, and a four-minute drive cost 125k return. They cleaned the room during the day and gave us fresh towels, but didn't replace the tea or coffee. There was one coffee sachet for two people over two days. The one-day island tour, which excludes food, covers the entire island for a million rupiah, a pretty nice deal. Shower water was freezing, not a drop of hot water. Two days was enough for us. Overall, the stay was satisfactory.

We were unsure about the location after reading other reviews, but it worked really well for us. It was quiet and away from the Main Street, with just a few minutes on the bike to get anywhere we wanted. My fiance and I stayed four nights in a lovely little villa, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The daily breakfast was fantastic, and the whole stay was peaceful and relaxing. We couldn't have been happier and highly recommend Akusara Jungle Resort & Spa.
